Akaysha is developing a large scale BESS adjacent to the Halys Substation in Queensland’s South Burnett Region. The BESS will support the rapid expansion of solar and wind projects leveraging existing transmission infrastructure in the South Burnett area built for conventional energy. The BESS will ensure cost efficient delivery of renewable energy to customers in Queensland while supporting the network.
Phase 1 of the Halys BESS project is 500MW/2000MWh using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cell technology.
