Ulinda Park BESS

Akaysha Energy operates the 155MW /298MWh Ulinda Park BESS, adjacent to the Western Downs Substation in Queensland’s energy heartland.

Located within an established transmission zone originally built for conventional generation, Ulinda Park plays a critical role in supporting the rapid expansion of solar and wind across the Western Downs.

By leveraging existing network infrastructure, the BESS enables the efficient integration and delivery of renewable energy to customers across Queensland while strengthening system reliability and resilience.

Ulinda Park’s revenue is underpinned by a 10-year battery revenue swap with Re2, a leading climate risk transfer platform, balancing contracted and merchant exposure while preserving operational flexibility for Akaysha to optimise bidding across energy and FCAS markets.

Looking ahead, Akaysha Energy has been awarded the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme for the Ulinda Park Expansion (195MW/780MWh).

Once complete, the expanded Ulinda Park BESS will total 350MW/1,078MWh, further enhancing Queensland’s clean energy transition.
