Managing Director, Chief Commercial Officer
Paul leads our cross-business strategy for revenue contracting and entry into new energy markets and products. Prior to joining Akaysha, Paul held leadership positions in private legal practice with law firms Ashurst (as Global Head of Energy) and Baker McKenzie (as Head of Renewable Energy APAC), building on a successful 25 year legal career focused on clean energy and climate change. During this time, Paul was recognised as one of Australia's leading renewable energy lawyers and globally as a long-standing market leader in climate change and carbon markets. During his two decades in private practice, Paul has been a driving force behind giga-watts of market-first greenfield renewable energy and M&A transactions across solar, wind, pumped hydro, energy from waste, and battery storage at both the utility scale and distributed generation. In addition, Paul has been – and continues to be - a long-standing policy voice for the clean energy sector as the energy transition accelerates toward net zero.

Vor seinem Wechsel zu Akaysha war er in leitenden Positionen bei internationalen Wirtschaftskanzleien tätig, darunter bei Ashurst als Global Head of Energy und bei Baker McKenzie als Head of Renewable Energy APAC.
Seine 25-jährige Tätigkeit als Anwalt war bis dahin auf erneuerbare Energien und Klimaschutz ausgerichtet. Er galt als einer der führenden Anwälte für erneuerbare Energien in Australien und als international anerkannter Experte für Klimawandel und Kohlenstoffmärkte, also Märkte für handelbare Emissionsrechte.
In dieser Zeit war Paul eine treibende Kraft hinter wegweisenden Greenfield-Projekten und M&A-Transaktionen im Bereich erneuerbarer Energien - mit einer installierten Leistung von mehreren Gigawatt in den Segmenten Solar, Wind, Pumpspeicher, Abfallverwertung und Batteriespeicher - sowohl im Versorgungsbereich als auch in der dezentralen Energieerzeugung.

Senior Commercial Manager & Country Head Deutschland
Tom Franks ist Spezialist für die kommerzielle Entwicklung von Batteriespeichersystemen und verfügt über mehr als acht Jahre Erfahrung in Großbritannien, Deutschland sowie in Mittel- und Osteuropa. In dieser Zeit hat er Markteintrittsstrategien entwickelt und umgesetzt, großvolumige BESS-Projektpipelines aufgebaut und komplexe Umsatzverträge für BESS-Anlagen im Versorgungsmaßstab strukturiert.
Tom hat Projekte mit einer installierten Leistung von über 3 GW bis zur Baureife entwickelt und war als kommerzieller Leiter an Vorhaben mit knapp 400 MW beteiligt. Sein Verantwortungsbereich umfasste das Kapazitätsmanagment und Abnahmestrategien, Ausschreibungen sowie Vertragsverhandlungen mit OEM- und EPC-Partnern.
Tom verbindet technisches und kommerzielles Know-how, um tragfähige, langfristige Projektergebnisse zu erzielen. In Deutschland verantwortet er die kommerzielle Strategie von Akaysha Energy.
Richard Reynolds
Director, Development & Delivery
Richard verfügt über mehr als zwanzig Jahre Erfahrung in der Umsetzung von Großprojekten in den Bereichen Großbatteriespeicher (BESS), Photovoltaik (PV) und Netzinfrastruktur.
Er leitet das Development- und Delivery-Team von Akaysha und koordiniert dabei Projektleiter, Development Manager, Ingenieure, Projektsteuerung sowie das Stakeholder-Management, bei der Umsetzung anspruchsvoller Projekte in den Kernmärkten des Unternehmens.

Tony Fullelove
Managing Director & Chief Development Officer
Tony Fullelove has almost twenty-five years' experience in the energy industry, leading large scale and distributed renewable projects and delivering major transformational programs across the energy sector.
Tony leads the Development and Delivery team, a talented and multi-discipline group of engineers, land developers, community and environmental experts and construction managers that develop and deliver industry leading BESS and renewable energy projects both in Australia and across Asia. Tony has extensive experience doing the same for large corporates in Australia, such as AGL and Monash University (Net Zero Initiative) and across Asia with Macquarie Capital’s renewable development vehicle, Blueleaf Energy.

Sota Iwasaki

After graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor in Science and Engineering, Sota gained over 10 years of experience in engineering, construction and plant maintenance in the Australian mining industry. Sota then returned to Japan and joined JUWI / Shizen Energy in 2017 and, as Head of Engineering, led the engineering and construction of over 500 MW of solar and battery plants. Sota then served as CTO and General Manager at multiple investment firms involved in geothermal and solar power plants as well as battery energy storage systems.
Daichi Yamamoto
Senior Project Engineer, Delivery
Daichi joined Akaysha Energy following his experience as a Senior Managing Director of an electrical contracting company, and then Shizen Energy, where he participated in domestic and international projects as an owner's engineer. Daichi later oversaw the Battery Storage Engineering Division, leading the development of both microgrid solutions and grid‑scale battery storage projects.
Kelly Seo
Senior Legal Manager
Kelly is a Senior Legal Manager at Akaysha looking after Akaysha’s projects in Japan as well as Australia including the Waratah Super Battery.
Kelly has a Bachelor’s degree in law and international studies from the University of New South Wales and prior to commencing to joining Akaysha worked in the legal team at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and as a corporate M&A lawyer at Arnold Bloch Leibler.
Kelly's experience spans project finance, projects and corporate M&A and was also a recipient of the Clean Energy Council’s Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership.

Phil Lee is responsible for driving and innovating Akaysha's contracted revenue strategy, including offtake product design and negotiation, commercial negotiation of key project documents, and assessing and structuring and negotiating business development opportunities.

Nicole joined Akaysha after spending three years at Hokkai Electrical Construction, a Japan-based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company. She is primarily involved in early-stage project design, with a particular focus on developing concept drawings. Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Hokkaido University.

Tom Franks is a battery energy storage commercial specialist with over eight years’ experience across the UK, Germany and Central & Eastern Europe. He has led market entry strategies, originated large scale BESS pipelines and structured revenue contracts for utility scale assets.
Tom has originated more than 3 GW of ready to build projects and acted as commercial lead on nearly 400 MW of developments, covering capacity and offtake strategy, bid submissions, and OEM/EPC negotiations. He brings a strong blend of technical and commercial expertise to deliver bankable, long term value. Tom leads Akaysha Energy’s commercial strategy in Germany.

Richard has over twenty years of experience delivering large-scale battery energy storage (BESS), solar (PV), and transmission projects.
